Testimonials

Richard was fantastic with the children. Our group included a high number of children with SEN and his manner and the quality of the activities was inclusive to all. The activities were highly engaging and we thoroughly enjoyed our day. Some of the children commented to their parents that it was the best trip they had ever been on. Parents’ feedback was also fantastic. It was great to be able to take a risk in such a safe environment. The atmosphere was always warm and welcoming. A brilliant day!

In my direct experience, I believe that outdoor learning, and especially Forest School, provides an optimum environment for the promotion of children’s life-long learning skills such as resilience, their ability to risk assess, and to work and communicate within a team or independently. Children who lacked self-esteem and leadership skills would often excel in the outdoor environment and this had a really positive impact on their ability to tackle learning they often found challenging in the classroom. Richard’s leadership and expertise in linking outdoor learning with other curriculum areas and his positive interaction with the children really enhances their experience.

Just a quick note to say thank you so much for Saturday. Jenny and I both really enjoyed it and for me it was a pleasure to be taught by a teacher who not only clearly knows his stuff but also knows how to teach – a rare combination! We are so inspired we have decided to start a whittling and bodging group in our neck of the woods.

Jane, Nature Workshops

Splendid workshop with kids who are all challenging / excluded etc. You pitched it perfectly and they rated it highly. Thank you.

We all had the most amazing time. It was exciting, educational, stimulating and fun. Your activities were imaginative and creative but challenging. Thank you so much.

Fantastic sessions. The children really enjoyed it. I saw several really challenging themselves. We have so far thought of 35 reasons for a camp fire! (+ counting). Thank you

I use the new skills you taught me . Hear are some. I learnt how to use a bow saw, how to use a bill hook and how to light a fire for the storm kettle and last but not least how to cooperate with the people in my class outdoors.

On behalf of the NIA team, I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all your efforts on the Parish Outreach Survey project.
We are really pleased with the results of the project and they were just what we needed to crack on with some parish project work in year 3. Thank you in particular for all your attention to detail with the survey itself, the online version worked very well and attracted a good response, and the report was snappy and concise.
Many thanks for a job well done in a very short timescale.
